Today my sweet little peach turned 18 months old. That's 1 1/2 for you lay people out there. Although a half birthday is by no means as momentous of an occasion as a legit bday, it's shocking how much has been going on in that little (well, maybe not little) head of hers in the last six months. I realize that I feel this way about every phase of development that my Little Red is presently in, but I have to say that 1 1/2 is for me. I've known everything about my baby top to toe since she was born but I'm in love the fact that she's now able to tell me what going on in her (again, not so little) noggin. Every day, sometimes every hour, I feel like I learn more about who she is and what she's capable of. Here is what I know about my sweet little 1.5-er:

She is no slouch in the wit department. She loves to laugh. She loves to "tell jokes" and is exceptionally good at being silly. She loves "her people" with reckless abandonment. She glues herself to those lucky souls and gives the tightest, most meaningful snuggles. She has been loved hard since she was a little swimmy baby in my belly and she knows how to return the sentiment. She can be kind and gentle in one moment and fierce and feisty in the next. Her wheels are constantly turning and her "off button" often seems to be missing. Her knack for quickly picking up new tricks, words, ideas stuns me on a daily basis. She's quirky in ways that make me walk around with a perma-smirk on my face and her gruff, borderline-froggy, voice is music to my ears.

She has left a mark on those around her. Her possibilities are endless.

That's enough.  :)

Since I've started photographing other kiddos and families, I've vowed that I would always put as much energy into taking pictures of my own sweet little baby. Hence, an 18 month photoshoot.

  3. Yes, yes it would. And I adore your photography style. I saw Karen's family pictures you shot, and they were just wonderful. Small moments captured forever. And I just learned how to just have it comment from my name. :)
